How to Draw Stewie from Family Guy

 Here we are going to learn how to draw two popular characters from the cartoon comedy Family Guy.  The family guy characters look fairly simple however they can be hard to draw because the simplicity is in the shapes. In order for the characters to look just right their shapes need to be perfect. Now I'm not saying that my shapes are perfect because they are not but I tried.

First I will start by showing you how to draw the baby Stewie Griffin. The key with Stewie is his weird shaped head.

Step 1: Draw a football shaped head. But make it like a overinflated football. Stewie's head is very big so don't draw it too small. It's kind of like a circle meets a football. So not too football like but not a circle or oval either kind of in between the two. It may take a while to get the perfect shape.

Step 2: His nose is very easy. Find the middle of his head and then move to the right just a little bit and draw the open triangle nose that I have drawn.

Step 3: His mouth is fairly easy. Draw a backslash line \ just below his nose. Then draw a slightly curved line to the left. Then a small forward slash line / on the bottom. And that is Stewie's little smirk.

 Step 4: To add Stewie's eyes draw two big circles on either side of his nose. Then draw the pupil eye. Next add in the eye lids. draw them slanting towards his nose. And that's it.

Step 5: Stewie's ear are very simple. On each side of his head draw a backwards "C" shape and then add a little line inside and that's all.

Step 6: Adding Stewie's hair and eye brows. His eye brows are easy they follow the same slant as his upper eye lid, right above his eyes. His hair is also simple. just little curved lines starting just past his head and extending inward. All around his head.

Well that's all there is to it. It may not look exactly like Stewie but like I said you have to work the shapes just perfect. So make any corrections and also try different eyes and mouth for different expressions. Have fun!

Now that we know how to draw Stewie it's time to draw Brian. I will warn you that he may come out looking like Snoopy or Gromit, but keep trying the shapes again until you get it.

Step 1: Draw a big oval for his nose. Color it in black.

Step 2: This is to give the shape of his muzzle. Just draw like a round edged square shape coming off his nose then curve each line upwards a little bit.

Step 3: His mouth might be a lil tricky but just try to do what I did.

Step 4: Drawing his eyes is easy. Draw one circle and then a half circle behind his nose. Then add in his eye lids, which are rounded as opposed to Stewie's. Then add the pupil eye.

Step 5: This is the ear, top of the head and his back head/ neck. Draw a curved line starting at his 2nd eye and moving to the left. Then a bump for the top of the ear. Then draw a rounded sqaure for the floppy ear. Also a small detail but draw a bump starting at the 2nd eye and connect it to the top of the muzzle to give an illusion of the other ear. Then draw a line from the ear down connection to the bottom of the mouth. Draw in his doggie collar.

Step 6: Make any corrections. I changed the mouth and made it smaller. And I re shaped the ear and eye lids.

Well that's It! Now you know how to draw both Stewie and Brian Griffin. Try drawing them with their bodies and other facial expressions. Now Go Practice!
